WE MUST INCREASE OUR BUST
Big news from Felt Club HQ: the über-awesome BUST magazine is now an official Felt Club sponsor! We're tickled pink to be working with them, and Felt Club visitors will be happy too, since this means we will be handing out free copies of the mag at our event! We'll be kicking things off at our debut event with their current issue, featuring Gretchen Mol (star of The Notorious Bettie Page) on the cover. More details on what's in the issue can be found on their fantabulous website, so be sure and check it out.

Surely you're familiar with BUST's editor, Debbie Stoller? She's the author of an amazing (and amazingly popular!) series of crafting books, including her latest work, Stitch'n'Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker. Well, expect to see a review of it later this week on our sister blog (of sorts) at SewDarnCute. In the meantime, we thought you'd enjoy seeing this hilarious little video her P.R. peeps made, illustrating the West Side Story-esque knitting vs. crochet mentality that exists in this kooky, crafty world of ours. We were tickled, hopefully you will be too! MOV file | WMV file

WOW!
It's only been a week since our site launch, and the response has been amazing. As noted elsewhere on the site, our May 13 debut event is now filled, you can view the full vendor gallery here. All applications received from now until May 10 will be considered for the June 10 event. We're still processing (and accepting!) applications, so if you haven't heard back yet, please be patient. Check the calendar page for all deadlines and event dates.

Felt Club was mentioned several places this week, including Whip Up, The Comics Reporter, Gridskipper, FLOG (The Fantagraphics Blog), Safe as Milk, and Boing Boing. Many thanks! In other exciting news, the folks from Boing Boing will be doing a video podcast from our debut event, so those of you who can't make it will be able to check it out through the Magic of Technology™. How cool is that?

More news to come soon—and as always, if you need to get in touch, please e-mail us here.

SITE LAUNCH
Greetings, craft fans! Our new website launches today and we couldn't be happier. Click around and you'll find a page full of Felt Club info, a fun and colorful vendor gallery, an application form (which is good for the May and June events), a helpful calendar page, and this news page, where you can read about all the latest developments.

We're still processing applications for the May 13 debut event, so expect to see new vendors in the gallery soon. The full roster of May participants will be listed by April 14. Remember, this is a monthly event, so keep those applications coming in! If we can't fit you in one month, there may be room next time.

If you wanna help spread the word about Felt Club, please bookmark our Downloads page. There you'll find various web banners you can use, and eventually PDF flyers and handbills you can print out and plaster around your neighborhood. You'll also be seeing Felt Club postcards around town soon, featuring our fantastic artwork by acclaimed illustrator (and Felt Club vendor) Jordan Crane. Thanks also to MAKE: Blog and Metroblogging.LA for featuring us on your sites!
