Swag Bag Sneak Peek #1
We're lucky enough to work with several amazing sponsors at Felt Club, and they have been more than generous with their time, promotional help, and SWAG! Every year we hang out some amazing swag bags to the first 250 visitors through our doors, and we strive to make these bags fun and fresh each time. In the coming weeks, we'll be posting sneak previews of some of the goodies you can expect to find if you're one of those lucky 250 peeps.

Check out these fantastic contributions from Chronicle Books! Each swag bag will feature one of the following items: French General: Home Sewn, Lace Knitting to Go, Picture Perfect Knits, or the French General Labels & Stickers pack.

Thank you so much to our friends at Chronicle! Stay tuned for more info about our Holiday 2008 event, coming very soon!

Swap-O-Rama-Rama at Felt Club

One of the fun new things we've added to the show this year is a whole SECOND show! What's that? Well, at the same time Felt Club will be going on downstairs at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Center, we'll be hosting Swap-O-Rama-Rama up on the balcony level. Between Felt Club, Swap, and the various DIY areas and entertainment we've got going on, this is truly an all-day experience!

If you're not familiar with Swap-O-Rama-Rama, take a look at founder Wendy Tremayne's website. In a nutshell, it's a clothing swap where visitors can drop off unwanted threads and grab some new ones to alter, embellish, hack and slash however they see fit! There are several sewing stations provided by the fine folks at Janome, and local L.A. designers will be on hand to help you customize your new clothing with silkscreening, appliqué, and more.

Visitors can bring any size bag of unwanted clothing and a $5 donation to get in (or a $10 donation without clothing). You can walk away with as many new pieces of cool clothing as you like...it's the bargain of the century!! OK, maybe that's stretching it a bit...but it's super fun and a really creative way to recycle.

If you'd like to find out more, or if you want to volunteer to help out, please visit the L.A. Swap organizer's site, Hip Line Media!
