Hope you crafty folks out there will drop these guys a line!
And on the subject of TV, FELT CLUB will begin taping two episodes of the DIY Network show Uncommon Threads in just a few short weeks. Not sure yet when these will air exactly, but we'll keep you posted.
Crafty Show Opportunity #1:
We are currently casting for a new documentary series about the women who make up the SoCal craft scene. We are looking for women who are passionate about being a crafter and who are trying to create their own independent business out of their work.
We are looking for outgoing, fun and above all, real and honest people that would feel comfortable sharing all aspects of their lives with us, from the creation of new craft items to a night out on the town with their friends.
If you are interested in being a part of the project, please send an email to CrafterDocumentary@gmail.com. Please include a recent photograph of yourself as well as a sample of some of your recent craft work. Any other questions about the project can be sent to this email address as well.
Information on the Executive Producer: Blake Levin is an accomplished Writer, Producer and Director. Some of his recent projects include the Emmy nominated "10 Days that Unexpectedly Changed America" for The History Channel, "Flip That House" for TLC, "30 Days" for FX and "Switched" for ABC Family.
Crafty Show Opportunity #2:
CRAFT LAB Season Two, is a fun, edgy and new take on the how-to crafting show. Come be a part of the new wave of the crafting revolution. We are looking for vivacious, interesting and engaging people to share their love of crafting on national television.
The host, Jennifer Perkins (DIY, Stylelicious), is an expert crafter and a member of the Austin Craft Mafia. Like the show, she's fun, perky, and slightly irreverent. Our show allows us the opportunity to go deeply into specific crafting techniques and funky new ideas for every age and craft level. Each show features one guest.
This is a great platform for the right guest to share their skills with a growing audience. DIY is approaching 35 million homes and DIYNetwork.com averages 2 million unique visitors per month.
If you?ve got a fun and unique craft and know you?ve got what it takes to be on television please contact Tony Federico at tfederico@sdetv.com. I?m looking for different approaches and new techniques.
We are taping in the Los Angeles area in September and October of 2006.
So get Crafty and show us what you?re working with now!
Hope you crafty folks out there will drop these guys a line!
